About the Town of Ross

Visit Ross Beach for great fishing, fossicking and long walks. There is also a covered swimming pool and squash court available to visitors.

Try fishing off the beach or  in the Mikonui or Totara Rivers for trout. Who knows you might even find gold on the beach. Hire a gold pan from us for an hour and try your luck.

Ross is an old Gold mining town dating back to 1860's. There is a wonderful Museum to visit (see below) along with a 1 hour long walk up through the old mine water race.
